fold - Man Page

• Wrap each line to default width (80 characters): fold path/to/file
• Wrap each line to width "30": fold -w30 path/to/file
• Wrap each line to width "5" and break the line at spaces (puts each space separated word in a new line, words with length > 5 are wrapped): fold -w5 -s path/to/file

fold [OPTION]... [FILE]...

Wrap input lines in each FILE, writing to standard output.

With no FILE, or when FILE is -, read standard input.

Mandatory arguments to long options are mandatory for short options too.

-b,  --bytes

count bytes rather than columns

-c,  --characters

count characters rather than columns

-s,  --spaces

break at spaces

-w,  --width=WIDTH

use WIDTH columns instead of 80

--help

display this help and exit

--version

output version information and exit
